Again with this nonsense!

I’m angrier than a cow being milked by a guy with extremely hot hands over this one, folks.  Why am I angry?  I’m angry that, in this day and age, a lot of people believe that aliens are out there.  As I wrote a couple of days ago, believing in aliens and UFO’s is a fool’s errand.

Well now along comes yet another news report, if you want to call it that. This time, scientists are claiming that aliens will contact us some time before 2036.  Any intellect who claims aliens exist immediately loses any and all credibility with me.

This time, the general idea, mysterious, magical signals will float through the universe and we’ll detect and intercept them.  What a ridiculous thing to believe!

And along comes SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence).  They’re a group that continues to search for live elsewhere.  Obviously, they’ve come up with nothing thus far.  Well…duh.  SETI’s Wikipedia page makes it seems as if SETI’s just a major troll organization.  The best trolling in the world started in 1896.

Seth Shostak, 80, is the senior astronomer for almost twenty-five years.  He is quoted as saying, “the trend of improving hardware, mostly computers, has proceeded unabated.  I’m begging on a signal by 2036.”  I wonder how much money he’d put down in a real bet.  Let’s see how much he believes then!

So is SETI credible?  Over 700,000 suckers follow their X page.  Still, that doesn’t make them credible.  Elon Musk, after all, has the most followers this year so far.

Over 182 million followers!

Musk is probably a bad example, because look at all he’s accomplished.  My point is that just someone or something that has many X followers doesn’t automatically make them credible.

So what’s the plan, Stan?  Shostak says that there is a plan when and if aliens are found.  They’ll make sure that whatever they find is alien.  And then they’ll scream at the top of their lungs for the entire world to care.

Apparently, what SETI’s looking for here is results of the Pioneer 10 project (its original name was Pioneer F), which SETI claims could have already yielded paydirt, but they won’t know for sure until they get a return signal, which would take about ten more years to make it back to Earth.  Pioneer sent out its last signal to us in 2003, when it was almost eight billion years away from us.  Wikipedia, of course, has an article about it.

Pioneer 10 was launched in March of 1972.

Look, the bible makes it clear that there is no life elsewhere.  It’s literally at the very start of the scripture, right there in Genesis.  And if there’s no life anywhere else, then all the supposed UFO “sightings” were, in my opinion, either were imagined or all people saw were objects that they couldn’t identify, but someone else could.

If it makes people sleep better at night, believe in aliens and UFO’s.  By all means, piss your time away by enjoying it all.  But as for me and my house, UFO’s and aliens are a source of amusement for me.
