Always a pleasure

I’m angrier than someone from West Virginia who just found out that his wife is really his cousin over this next story.  The reason that I’m angry is because I haven’t kept up with my favorite show from my youth, the then-MTV cult classic Beavis and Butthead.  I was such a fan of the show that I perfected my imitations of both characters (but most often, Butthead!) to the point that my nickname in high school was either one of the two.

I ran across this recent Saturday Night Live skit, where actors portrayed the two ne’er-do-well teenagers.  They nailed it, especially Butthead.  Sorry that this isn’t an anti-cop or anti-Democrat post, but I thought it was too funny not to share.

Yes, the cartoon series was my favorite, to the chagrin of my mother.  I would watch it all the time while they did little shorts and then watched a music video, commenting on that video.  My favorite commentary was during the music video for 2 Unlimited’s Get Ready (f/k/a Get Ready for This).  I found it hilarious then and I find it absolutely hysterical today.

Anyway, I thought I’d share the skit, because the guest host couldn’t keep it together.  Didn’t they have rehearsals?  Oh, well.
