As a Catholic, I stand with over two billion of my like-minded people when it comes to abortion. Of course abortion is murder. Of course it is! There is never an excuse for abortion, none at all. I mean that. Even if carrying the baby to full term puts the mother at risk, then so be it. Rape, incest, and so forth are not valid excuses to have an abortion.
Some people don’t feel that way. One couple proudly announced to the world on Instagram that they’d aborted their baby because of Down Syndrome. Again, there’s never an excuse for abortion and that disorder is absolutely not an excuse. As you might imagine, their story did not elicit sympathy.
Looking for sympathy, they found none. Instead, they became a target for death threats, ridicule and scorn. And they deserve that. Things are so bad that the father now sleeps with a gun at his side. The police should immediately confiscate that gun and let people decide whether or not the couple deserves the death penalty. That baby had no way to defend its life and they shouldn’t have any means either.
Although I cannot encourage or applaud on this platform the death another, I can say that I would not cry if this couple wound up suffering the same fate that they imposed on their innocent baby.
