Just how dumb are they?

It’s a sad state of affairs when someone can’t tell time.  Yet, here we are.  It seems that many teenagers, and maybe even some young adults, are no longer able to tell time unless they glance at their Android or iPhone.  Sadly, there are many people these days who can’t do a simple thing like glance at an analog clock and, you know, tell time.

It’s really pathetic.  I grew up in the 1980’s and I can tell you that I absolutely can tell time by glancing at either an analog or digital clock.  I can also write in cursive.  It seems that many schools have thrown in the towel and have simply stopped teaching cursive.  At work, I come across paperwork where a “signature” is a printed name.

Sorry, but the only valid signature, at least to me, is one written in cursive.  The new generation is being spoiled.  When something becomes difficult, simply stop teaching it.  That is apparently the new way of dealing with things.  We have a plethora of people who would look at an analog time and they’d have a meltdown because they couldn’t tell what time it is.  Sad.

Just as sad is the fact that so many people can’t do something as simple as writing in cursive.  Look, there is no excuse for not knowing how to read a clock and for not knowing cursive.  It seems that the new generations of people have simply gone retarded.  That’s pathetic.

We live in an era of TL;DR.  If something is too difficult to read, you simply whine that it’s too long and you don’t read it.  That seems to be the new way of doing things these days.  Either these sorts of people have short attention spans or they’re simply retarded.  Either way, our world is going down the toilet.

By the time one is in fourth grade, that person should know how to read an analog clock.  They should know how to write in cursive.  They should be able to read lengthy material instead of going into meltdown mode.

Things can only get worse.  We have people who can’t form proper sentences in SMS messages.  There is no excuse to not know how to do any of these things.  When things get too difficult for people to grasp these days, the schools just give up.

That’s scary.

Oh, and don’t even get me started on the idiots who misuse or overuse the word “literally,” as in “it’s literally in front of you.”  Yes, technically it’s correct usage, but it’s not necessary.  Sigh.
