In just a few days, drivers who commit DUI will lose their license after just one DUI stop. This should have already been in place, but I suppose better late than never. The DMV is increasing points for various offenses, and DUI, finally, is one of them. I personally detest drunk drivers and I truly believe that after even one DUI conviction, there should be a lifetime prison sentence with no chance of parole.
Indeed, DUI will now carry 11 points, and that is enough to trigger an automatic license suspension. There is concern on the part of various law enforcement agencies that motorists will become hostile when learning that their license is about to disappear after just one DUI incident. Well, maybe don’t drive drunk. That might be something for them.
I have no sympathy for drunkards who drive. I truly believe that a drunk driver is a weapon and that they should be treated thusly: a deadly weapon. Read into that what you will. If a driver wants to be hostile, they should be hostile: towards themselves. No one forces a drunkard to get behind the wheel. It’s a choice.
Just remember that drunk drivers kill people. Everyone knows that drunk drivers kill, so when a drunkard drives, he or she is, in my opinion, a murderer if anyone dies because of their cold, malicious, calculated and evil decision. I will feel no sympathy when I hear of a drunkard losing his or her license because of their choice. Maybe it’ll scare people into, I don’t know, not driving drunk in the first place.
Actually, the DMV is still going too light on drunk drivers. Even one DUI pullover should result in a permanent license revocation. Maybe someday, but for now, an automatic suspension will simply have to do.
