Yesterday, I commented on the panic and craziness caused by a simple snowstorm here in the Albany area, part of the Capital Region. The picture to the left (click on it for a better view) was taken by me this morning, showing the net result of yesterday’s little storm. And that’s what it was…a little storm. And calling it a storm is being generous.
No, what happened yesterday was a little snowfall. Despite that, the local TV stations went wall to wall with their coverage and there were numerous collisions all over the area because an overwhelming number of motorists went full retard over a piddly amount of snow. This is just laughable!
As I mentioned before, this was a whole lot of fuss over absolutely nothing at all. That small amount of snow caused schools and businesses to close for the day and, again, caused so many collisions that some people should have their driver’s licenses taken away permanently for the good of society.
If this caused that much drama, I can’t wait to see what’ll happen when a real, actual storm comes through. I am glad that I chose to stay home during the worst of the “storm.” If I hadn’t, I may have been hit by a moron who can’t do a simple thing like driving appropriately for conditions.
So, a storm, Albany? Really?
