Goodbye or see you later?

I’ll be going silent for a couple of days. I have surgery scheduled for (too) early on Tuesday. They’ll be opening me up to implant a VNS device, something that’s implanted next to my heart with a wire to my brain. This device will help with my seizures.

Some of you know that I have a DNR/MOLST in place. One of my instructions is that there is to be no blood transfusion. The surgery itself is considered minor, but in any surgery, a blood emergency is possible.
It’s 99% likely that this will happen with no incident. But if there is an incident, it’s set in stone that they will not intervene if there’s a need for a blood transfusion. No, I am not a Jehovah’s Witness. My reasons are my own and I don’t want to get into it.

So, just in case, and not to be dramatic, but just in case, I’ve had a good run and it’s been awesome writing about various things over the past twenty years or so.

Of course, if I’m back here on Wednesday, then I said all of that prematurely. Let’s see what happens!
