The drama continues

Over the past week or so, I have been discussing the issue of SNAP/EBT/food stamps benefits and the fact that no one will see their EBT cards loaded when they wake up on the 1st.  I’m picturing tons of black people at Walmart, crying because they have no way to pay for their food.  Of course, that means that many will shoplift.  That is what those people do after all.

Let me make this clear: November benefits will not happen.  It’s over.  No one’s ever going to see those benefits.  At the rate we’re going, people might not see benefits become available in December.  And that is as it should be.  Actually, this should be a sign that maybe now is the time to eliminate the SNAP program altogether, once and for all.  But that’s for another day.

We’ve got a bigger problem on our hands: numerous states, including my own, sued the USDA this morning, seeking a court order that compels the agency to push the funds needed for each state to post benefits to the cards of lazy people who simply do not want to work.

If the court order is granted, it will be a very bad thing indeed.  I was looking forward to seeing people weep and whine and wail on X and TikTok.  Granting the order would cause me to lose out on entertainment.  The courts need to rule against the states.  I am looking forward to seeing starving, lazy people, and that includes children!

By the way, I have been ranting about this on TikTok, so visit my profile to see those posts.

The lawsuit will almost certainly fail.  There’s simply no time left.  It’s getting close to the end of business for today, meaning that there’s no way that the USDA can send each of our fifty states the money and then have those states submit funds and files to their SNAP vendors in time for payments to post money to cards.  Even if the states prevail, and they won’t, there’s no time left and there’s no money to be sent.

The states that sued are wasting the court’s time and everyone’s tax dollars.  There is no way that any court, including the Supreme Court, is going to grant the court order.  The USDA made it clear on their website: “the well has run dry.”  That means there are no funds to send, even if they’re served with a court order.  You can’t send money when there is no money to send.

Look, it’s just like suing anyone else.  I could take you to court, for example, and win a judgement for, say, $5,000.  If you don’t have that money, there’s nothing for me to take.  Winning a lawsuit is not always a guaranteed payday.  That’s what many people forget.

Some people think that they can waltz into court, prove their case and get a judgement and then see money instantly.  As for a judgement against you, if your well has run dry, then there’s nothing for me to take, right?  Well, that’s how it is here.  No matter how many people get hurt, this is just the cold, harsh reality.

Maybe, just maybe, they’ll find a court to grant the order, but if the USDA’s well is dry, then the states and their lazy SNAP recipients, are very much out of luck.  See how that works?

Face it, folks.  If things go the way that I and many others want it to go, then no one, and I mean no one, with the possible exception of a few states, like Louisiana, will wake up to benefits on their cards on Saturday.  For now, there’s nothing for us to do but to sit back and hope that the courts make the right decision: let the people go hungry, even the children.

Yes, there will be a few states who can make benefits happen in time, and that enrages me.  Everyone should be going without.  But there’s nothing I can do about that.  Fortunately, there will be a plethora of states and their people that I can laugh at.  I am definitely looking forward to social media on Saturday morning!

Before you go feeling sorry for those people, I would just point out that they have options:

  • Get a job.  Now.
  • Get a job.  Now.
  • Get a job.  Now.
  • Take out a personal loan with their bank.
  • Sell personal property on the various marketplace apps and websites.

Those are just some of the choices that these people can make.  Oh, but they don’t want to do that!  They want everything handed to them free of charge.  Well, if anything good comes out of it, it will come to light that we can do just fine as a nation without the SNAP program.  So let’s just consider October’s benefits the end and shut it right on down, even in the midst of a government shutdown.

Remember, here in the United States, food is a privilege, not a right.  If it were a right, we wouldn’t have to pay a dime for food.  It’s because of that that I don’t feel a bit of compassion for those who will go hungry unless the courts go full retard and grant the order.  Instead of whining on social media, they should be out there earning money.

I know that earning things is a foreign concept to them, but maybe this situation will cause the motivation they need to quit holding out their hands on the first of the month.

It’s important to keep one thing in mind here: SNAP, much like anything else in life, is not guaranteed.  So rather than whine and cry on social media, these people should go get jobs.  There’s plenty of time before Saturday!
