He watched porn, she paid the price

It is not up for debate: pornography in any way, shape or form, is disgusting, degrading to women, dirty and a mortal sin.  The people who look at that filth are horrible people.  So, then, you will understand why I believe Christopher Scholtes, 37, is a scumbag of the highest order.  Police allege that he sat in his house watching pornography while his two-year-old daughter baked to death in his vehicle.

Scholtes is facing first-degree murder charges.  The poor little girl literally baked to death in 109-degree heat, typical for Arizona. But if the allegations are true, Scholtes cared more about perversion than he did his own daughter.  To him, getting off was more important than being a, you know, father.

For reasons unknown, a judge ruled that prosecutors cannot bring up his perverted hobby, but they can tell the jury that he’s allegedly left other kids unsupervised.  What kind of parent leaves their kid in a car unattended, especially in hot temperatures?  Kids that young are held hostage in their car seats, unable to get themselves out.

His daughter was at her most vulnerable and he allegedly left her to die anyway.  I’m fairly certain that his fellow jail inmates are showing him what happens to people like him.  And that’s just a preview!  When he gets to state prison, he will become fellow inmates’ bitch.  See, inmates don’t like it when you commit a crime against children.

Scholtes’ 2003 Acura became that little girl’s prison and what was he doing while she died?  He was, it is alleged, playing PlayStation and watching pornography.  She died so that he could do awful and disgusting things.  What kind of loser plays PlayStation to begin with?

Do you know what else is disgusting?  When a spouse defends someone who murders their child, which is what is alleged here, that spouse is a disgusting pig.  His wife is a doctor and she has risen to his defense, calling her husband’s alleged actions “a mistake.”  Choosing to sit down and play geeky video games is not a mistake.  Leaving a child behind is not a mistake.  Both things are choices, not mistakes.

I brought this topic up a few months ago and the question remains the same: how can you forget a living, breathing human being, especially on a hot day?

I choose to believe that he did not make a mistake, nor did he forget his daughter.  In my opinion, he knew what he was doing.  He was, I allege, cold and calculating, especially since two of his other children stated that he left them unattended a lot of times.  This was not a one time thing, not that that makes it okay.

Those kids mentioned that he prioritized video games and beer over children.  His own children no less!  They further stated that his wife told him on numerous occasions to stop, but she kept leaving them with him anyway.  In my opinion, she should be locked up as well for leaving the kids with him despite his alleged track record.

This guy has an alleged history of child abuse as well, apparently with all of his children, including one who is sixteen years old now.  He has had numerous chances to correct his behavior, but he did not do so.  Now, an innocent toddler has been lowered into the ground, paying the price for her father’s booze and video games.

Now, in the interest of full disclosure, I did have a daughter who ultimately was given up for adoption when she was two.  I was far from a model father.  I never wanted her, so I neglected her and did only the bare minimum to keep her alive.  Do you want to guess, however, how many times I left her alone inside a locked car on a hot day, or any day for that matter?  Zero, and I never even wanted her!

It will be interesting to see how this plays out in court.  Hopefully, the prosecutor will not go soft.  No plea deals, just hard prison time with other men, none of whom appreciate the presence of a man who by all accounts murdered his own daughter.
