People are at it again, folks. AccuWeather has sounded the alarm, an alarm that is trying to scare people in the Northeast. To hear them tell it, we’re on the road to major hurricane and the storms, the rain and the flooding that goes with it. This has some people running scared. Not me!
It’s been a long time since we’ve had a major storm and, living in upstate New York, I’ve only been through one tiny (for upstate New York) storm, Hurricane Sally. All we got was copious amounts of rain. We had no deaths, no injuries and no property loss.
I’m sure that another storm will hit my area soon. In fact, I know so. But I’m not worried. The storms aren’t likely to affect us here in the general Albany area, and if something does hit us, it’ll just be a lot of rain, nothing more.
Oh, yes, I forgot about the flooding. While it is true that a few floods have affected Albany and its immediate suburbs, it’s never affected me personally. Just rain. So if something were to happen in Albany, I’m pretty confident that it won’t affect me, so to be honest, I really don’t care.
