Last month, I told you about an awful man, Michael Martin, a Catholic bishop in North Carolina. He pretty much killed Traditional Latin Mass in his diocese, and yeah, people reacted. He was probably not prepared for the amount of negative reactions that came his way.
Well, folks, he’s folded like a cheap suit, at least for now. His changes will still happen, apparently, but not until October. He supposedly put the delay in place in order to let people adjust to such a change. Well, he’s going to have problems if he goes through with those plans at all.
Angry parishioners will, I predict, cause him to abandon his baffling changes completely. You just don’t mess with TLM. You just don’t.
My diocese does not offer TLM, but you better believe that if they did, I would be there, if only once a week. Our bishop is not an idiot like Martin is. He simply wouldn’t pull the stunt that Martin did.
So….let’s sit back and let this all play out. I am sure that come October, he will be singing another tune.
