Prestige didn’t do the right thing

A month ago, I told you about a difficult experience that I had with Prestige Vending, a company that places vending machines in the breakrooms of businesses all over the area.  Over the years, I’ve spent well over $200 buying food and drink through their machines.  How was I shown gratitude?  By refusing to issue a refund when one of their machines had a slight difficulty and screwed me out of $5.00.

Since they refused to refund me, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.  I wrote an honest and detailed complaint.  Just a few moments ago, the BBB sent me Prestige’s reply.  They made it seem as if it were my fault and they implied that they never got my money despite being shown screenshots of my bank transaction history.

Now, the BBB is making it seem as though I didn’t respond when I actually did.  Rather than doing the right thing, Prestige played the victim when in fact I am the victim.  Now, I have no other choice but to take them to small claims court.  Yes, all over $5.00.  The amount of money isn’t the issue; the lack of accountability is.

I approached this issue with honesty and Prestige has chosen violence.  It’s sad that it’s reached this point, but there is some good news: today, their machines were removed from my employer’s break room.  It’s definitely a coincidence, but I am glad to see them go.  Maybe my complaint to management and my posting of my articles pertaining to this matter on their machines had something to do with it, but I doubt it.

No matter what brought on the removal, at least one of my issues has been resolved.  They will not be able to mistreat another customer the way they treated me.  This isn’t about the money anymore.  It’s about revenge and accountability.  I will see them in court and I will of course keep posting articles on the matter.
