A lot of drama over nothing

The matter of transgenderism is a hot-button and dramatic one, especially when it comes to gender pronouns.  People born as one gender “identify as” being another gender.  If someone dares to refer to one of them by that person’s birth name, that someone is branded hateful and bigoted even though they are correct.

Look, when people say “I identify as,” they really mean “I pretend to be.”  One of those people is Admiral Rachel Levine, Assistant Secretary for Health under Sleepy Joe Biden’s administration and now there’s outrage.  A portrait of him remains hanging in the hallway of the Department of Health and Human Services.  But there’s a problem, because…of course there is.

Levine identifies as “Rachel,” meaning that he pretends to be a Rachel when he is really a Richard.  People are up in arms, claiming that supposedly “deadnaming” him is a bad thing.  Deadnaming is when you refer to a trans person by his or her given name,  meaning that Levine got supposedly deadnamed.

The nameplate on his portrait is accurate.  When all is said and done, he is a he and therefore, he is Richard Levine, not Rachel.  And while we’re at it, he sure does make an ugly woman, doesn’t he?

Thankfully, some people have a brain.  “We remain committed to reversing harmful policies enacted by Levine and ensuring that biological reality guides our approach to public health,” Emily Hilliard, the HHS Department’s press secretary, said.  I couldn’t agree more.  Letting Richard prance around as Rachel is absolutely harmful to a decent society.

The Daily Mail reports thusly: “The Trump administration has moved swiftly to impose anti-trans policies, which include a ban on transgender military members.”  I couldn’t agree more!  What people call “anti-trans,” I call doing the right thing.  Trans people absolutely should not be permitted to serve in the world’s finest military.

It’s time to stop caving in to the ridiculous things that are going on.  If you’re born a male, you’re a male and doing anything to the contrary does nothing to change that.  People can pretend to be whatever gender they wish to be, but that does not make their change valid in any way, shape or form.

I applaud the Trump administration’s efforts to make America great again by showing trans people that they can pretend all they wish, but they cannot change reality.
