There may be more trouble on the horizon for SNAP recipients in over 20 blue states. As soon as next week, the USDA may start withholding SNAP funds meant for those states unless they send in information regarding the citizenship status of each recipient in that state. This a good starting point for taking food out of illegals’ mouths and I applaud the Trump administration for stepping up.
Of course illegals should not be collecting SNAP. Come to think of it, they shouldn’t get any form of assistance and they shouldn’t be allowed treatment at hospitals. But that’s another drama for another day. The states in question pretty much have to provide the information or it could be quite possible that SNAP recipients won’t see a January payday.
New York state is one of the states affected by the demand and our governor is already playing the victim on X, painting Trump as a villain who likes to see people go hungry. Not so! He just wants to ensure law and order. That’s all this is.
This demand is clearly designed to ensure that only citizens get SNAP. Of course, the right move would be to make it so that SNAP is abolished altogether, but this is a good start.
