We need to be prepared. Trump gets it!

With the probability of World War III starting within the next year ever growing, our nation’s finest president, President Donald Trump, has just ordered the Department of War to immediately begin testing new nuclear weapons.  Unlike previous presidents who shrunk from that duty, Trump has stepped up because he gets it.

Citing the fact that other countries such as North Korea, China and Russia, among others, continue to test their weapons, Trump has said that the time is now for our country to build up as many nuclear assets as we possibly can, so that when the time comes, we can properly retaliate and cremate any country that launches against us.

Yesterday, Trump had this to say to a reporter: “I think we have it pretty well locked up… I see them testing. I say, well, they’re going to test, I guess we have to test.”  Damn right!  Make no mistake about it: Russia and North Korea are ramping things up on a daily basis.  At any given moment, these countries could launch and we need to be ready to turn those countries and their people into piles of ash.

It’s been about thirty-three years since we last revamped our nuclear arsenal, so the time is definitely now to hope for the best, including possible de-nuclearization, but we also have to be realistic and assume that our enemies are after nuclear war, not nuclear peace.  Trump wants to de-escalate things, but unfortunately, that dog won’t bark.

A lot of people are wondering if Trump would launch first, but our country, for the moment anyway, is not a first-strike nation.  We only act when acted upon, but we do need to be prepared for the possibility that Trump, or whomever is the president at the time, will be forced to throw the first strike.

Even though we’ll be launched at by every nuclear power if we do throw the first punch, we need to have the capability to do make the first move.  I can’t think of any justification for that at the moment, but there are those within our government and military who have the knowledge and resources necessary to come up with just cause.

We might have to launch if NATO’s Article V is activated in order to adhere to the an attack on one is an attack on all mentality, but that won’t technically be a first strike.  To me, that’s the most realistic thing that resembles a first strike and to be honest, Article V will be what brings us into World War III.  While it is possible for Russia to nuke us out of the blue, their president, President Vladimir Putin, knows better than that.

Unfortunately, Trump might be putting us in a vulnerable position, but he wants to do what’s best for the greater good.  Other countries will likely see our testing as an aggressive move and they could increase their alert levels as a result (their version of our DEFCON), but we have to do what’s best for our country and what’s best is to ensure that we can vaporize any and all countries that even put a finger near their figurative red buttons.

Speaking of DEFCON, what is our current level?  There are five conditions, with that being a condition of peacetime.  Level one, then, is the highest possible state of readiness, meaning that nuclear warfare has begun.  Thankfully, the highest that our country has ever seen DEFCON at is the second level.  That happened during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  The day will soon come when we will hit DEFCON 1.

The current DEFCON level is not publicly known, but numerous open-source resources state that we are at DEFCON 3, with the Air Force ready to deploy within fifteen minutes, with other forces standing ready to deploy quicker than they would be under lower conditions.  We were at that level during the Yom Kippur War in 1973.  That’s some serious stuff right there!

As for this latest development, I fully support Trump and our military in this latest move.  It is absolutely the perfect time to test new weapons.  We need to be prepared for the day that will one day arrive.  It’s not a matter of “if,” but “when.”  Trump is clearly looking out for our nation’s best interests.
