Who’s silly now, bitches?

Earlier this month, I happily told my readers that I received the COVID shot the very day it became available at my local pharmacy.  I also got my flu shot, but that’s not the point of this article.  I was called “silly” because I got my shots so early.  The CDC just made it more difficult to get a COVID shot.  Difficult, but not impossible.  Well, who’s silly now, bitches?  I got my COVID jab before this change.  If you’ve waited, that makes you silly, doesn’t it?

Now, it seems, only people over 65 or people with legitimate underlying medical conditions will get the green light to put needle to arm.  Before, it was pretty much first come (giggity), first served.  It could have been a lot worse: they were going to go the route of requiring everyone to get a prescription from their doctors.  But that’s not the case.  For now.

Because of my choice to get my shot early, I will not have to deal with any new restrictions that may be imposed.  Those of you who’ve been sitting on your hands?  Good luck worrying about the logistical and insurance problems that it looks like you’ll have because you waited like a retard.

I saw this train wreck coming and I jumped out of the way just in time, as did like-minded people who also thought ahead.

To be fair, not all pharmacies are offering COVID shots at this time.  Many are waiting for CDC guidance and for word from insurance carriers.  In my case, I simply stalked my area pharmacies’ apps and the minute a shot became available, I grabbed an appointment and had needle in arm less than thirty minutes later.

I experienced no issues whatsoever.  I had to wait only five minutes while they ran my insurance and sure enough, I paid absolutely nothing whatsoever!  Still, some pharmacies are hesitating while their competition happily accepts patients and their insurance.  Maybe some people are so tied to one particular pharmacy that they simply won’t go to another one even if it means missing out on the COVID shot for a month or more.

My advice, strictly personal and not medical?  Get the shot now.  Don’t worry about loyalty.  Worry about you.  If your preferred pharmacy isn’t giving out the shots yet, go find somewhere where you can get the jab and feel absolutely no guilt for doing that.

The more you wait, the more exposed you are, especially given the time that it takes for the shot to actually afford protection.
