Russia and Ukraine: not our damn problem!

Anyone who knows me or who visits this site knows that I know that President Trump is the BEST president our country has ever seen, but he’s fouling up big time by interjecting himself (and us!) into the Putin and Zelensky drama. I have an idea: leave Tweedledee and Tweeleduh to their own devices. Russia and Ukraine? NOT OUR PROBLEM!

This soap opera has been reported by so many news outlets that I’m not going to even bother to post external links.  We all know what’s going on and we all know that, through Trump, our country is playing with fire.  I can just see Putin ready to give the launch order at any given second if Trump doesn’t let him have his way.

I have written about this topic a few times.  You can catch up here, here and here.  I first wrote about this ten days ago.  The problem is not going to just go away, unfortunately.  So although Trump is our best president, he may also be the one that causes World War III.

If we continue to involve ourselves in this matter, we are basically asking for trouble.  We, as a country, are basically asking Putin to pretty-please nuke our country into oblivion.  And, really, why are we helping Ukraine in the first place?  We give, give, give.  They take, take, take.  Will they ever pay us back?  Will they ever do something to help us in any way?  No!

Given that Ukraine has nothing to offer us, we should immediately cut off any form of aid and we should walk away and let Russia and Ukraine duke it out for the next several years for all I care.   Not our circus, not our clowns.

Yes, I do feel bad for Ukraine.  Yes, Russia is in the wrong.  I feel bad for the innocent civilians who are being killed or otherwise victimized.  But that doesn’t justify giving the aid that we are doling out.  Whatever is happening between the two countries that were once part of the Soviet Union during the Cold War, it’s not our mess to clean up.  It is not our problem to solve.

Where will it end?  We’re giving Ukraine money, weapons and lots of other things that they don’t deserve.  What’s next?  Will Trump deploy troops?  Will Putin activate his military forces, thereby forcing us into a third world war?  He could if we don’t stand down!  In fact, things could go sideways at any moment.

We have enough problems here at home without pissing away money and other forms of aid on Ukraine, a country that will never repay our generosity.  Let’s just leave them be and let things play out however they’re going to play out.
