This story is a decade old, but I just ran across it on Facebook. I found it so funny that I had to share! Abdullahi Abdisalam Borleh apparently found out the hard way that sometimes, justice is instant. So it was on February 2, 2016 aboard Daallo Airlines Flight 159. It departed from Mogadishu.
Borleh was identified as the man who somehow got a bomb on board the plane. At about twenty minutes into the flight, the bomb went off, causing injuries and one death: that of Borleh himself! He apparently meant to do a lot of people a lot of harm and he almost succeeded.
One key fact is kind of chilling: at the last minute, Borleh traded seats with another passenger. Borleh settled down into what would be his death chair. He was basically burned and sucked out of the plane and the innocent man who could have been the victim escaped with injuries, but he survived.
It’s kind of scary to think that if that innocent passenger had refused to trade, he would become the innocent victim of a monster. Thankfully, justice prevailed that day and Borleh’s burned body was found in a nearby city.
Of course, Borleh was one of those people who wasn’t bright enough to do something as horrendous as this without help. The terrorist group Al-Shabaab took the credit for this one.
A lot of innocent people could have gotten killed, but the only one who died is the one who deserved it. That’s what makes this story so funny!
