Just another rant: UFOs

For this one, I’m just going to rant and rave.  No links to news stories, no citations, just ranting.

I’m tired of seeing news stories pop up with clearly doctored photographs that scream at the top of their lungs about flying saucers and such.  I just saw a story about a supposed sighting in Alaska, and just a couple days ago, people were screaming about UFO’s flying over areas that house or make our world’s nuclear missiles.

It should be enough to make anyone sick, dear reader!  Sick!

Here’s the thing: UFO’s simply don’t exist.  I don’t know what it is that these people are seeing, but it ain’t an alien spacecraft.  Why is that?  There are no aliens to make and fly those supposed vehicles.  The Mormons would have you believe that God and others reside on a distant planet called Kolob.  Not so!

Earth is the only planet that God populated and I’m no pope or anything like that, but God sure as hell doesn’t live on another planet.  Therefore, what these people are seeing (if they’re being honest) is man made.  I don’t know if these people are just looking for free publicity, whether they’re just lying, or whether they’re so mentally ill that they’re imagining things.

What I do know is that anyone who believes in aliens and alien spacecraft is crazy.  At least that’s in my opinion.  Why would any rational, sane person think they’re seeing aliens and alien technology?

Many years ago, I was volunteering in a mental health wing of an area hospital.  A few patients were having a spirited discussion about aliens and UFO’s.  One person said that there is no life elsewhere.  Another responded that “it’s arrogant” to believe that Earth is the only planet with life on it.

I just had to chime in and say to that person that, “if you believe that, then you belong in here more than this guy!”  Well, I was asked to leave, but what are you going to do?  I’m never shy about putting my two cents in, even when it’s uncalled for.

I truly believe that if someone believes in life on other planets, and by extension, UFO’s, that person belongs in a mental health ward for the rest of their life or until they come to their senses.
