Music Video Pick of The Week: Billy Joel, The Longest Time

I’m angrier than a deaf person who can’t hear the best songs in the world.  I’m also angry because this artist hasn’t put out new work in a while.  This week’s Music Video Pick of The Week is the mega-talented artist Billy Joel and his official music video for The Longest Time.

Hailing from 1984, the song is unique in that Joel sang all the parts, one on top of another.  That makes the song extremely unique and showcases Joel’s natural talents.  As for the music video, it is set in a high school, apparently right after his 25th class reunion.

In the video, Joel and his friends see the high school versions of themselves and perform with one another.  That, of course, took some doing and probably took a long time to shoot.

The video was shot at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.  Believe it or not, but there is no information on how the video performed on MTV or VH1.  The video appears to not have won any awards nor even a nomination, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad video.

I find the video to be quite entertaining and well worth the time to watch it.
