Lee Greenwood is a one-hit wonder with his 1984 song God Bless The USA. But I’ve always had problems with the lyrics. Hopefully, I’m not the only one.
The song is incredibly sexist and exclusionary. Instead of “I won’t forget the men who died,” why didn’t he say, “I won’t forget all those who served?” Maybe he just didn’t care about that and only focused on men and only if they died. He is a disgusting person!It’s sad that he wanted to only pay tribute to men and only if they died. Just how bigoted do you have to be to sing lyrics such as that?
No, what he should have done is this: he should have thanked everyone who has ever served in the military, whether man or woman, dead or alive and so forth. Maybe he missed that memo.
