Sometimes, watching someone pwn themselves is, quite frankly, amusing as hell. So it is with this story. Here, I am discussing Daria Serkov, who is deceased. She was a passenger on her older sister’s bike last night when their bike was allegedly hit by a garbage truck.
This is a somewhat interesting story. Numerous news articles have obtained information from a plethora of witnesses. Everyone agrees that the truck hit the girls, but who was actually at fault? Of course, I wasn’t there, so I can’t say for sure. It seems to me that what probably happened is that the girls were going so fast that they likely ignored a stop signal and plowed through the intersection so fast that the driver couldn’t react in time.
The scene was a bloodbath. It reminds me of a time, way back when I was a youth, a garbage truck hit a kid, who no one liked or hung out with. He was run over and his blood was in a pool, while his mother begged us to go away. We did not. He was literally squished like that judge in “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”
Anyway, Serkov here was also squished by the garbage truck. A fitting end.
Witnesses have told media outlets that it was so bad that blood was gushing out of her ears. She was rushed to the hospital, but yeah…they should have gone to the medical examiner’s office instead. I wish I could see pictures of the crash.
As for the bike, it was actually an e-bike. Specifically a Citibike. Their website happily chirps:
“Manhattan. Brooklyn. Queens. The Bronx. Jersey City. Hoboken. We’ve got bike stations all over the map, so it’s easy to get where you’re going. And back again.”
Basically, it’s a bikeshare system. Looks like they’re down a bike! Oh, yeah, one small detail: Serkov was too young to use the service, according to online resources. That’s going to bite someone on the ass.
As for the sister, she is alive and in the hospital. Without knowing the whole story, I have to careful. At a cursory glance, it’s my opinion that the sister may have been operating the bicycle in a manner that was less than safe. It sounds like the truck driver was not at fault.
On the off chance that the driver was at fault, the girls should still have been attentive. Clearly, their situational awareness was not activated last night. Look, my opinion is this: no matter what, the girl in control of the bike could likely have prevented this had she been, you know, paying attention.
Her family got an early breakfast though…she died a pancake! Looks like Darwin got another one!

New video footage, as it always does, has emerged. It turns out that the sister was old enough to rent the bike, but the bikes are intended for use by one person only. So right off the bat, they thought the rules didn’t apply to them. Well, they got what they deserved as far as I am concerned.

A whiny little bitch emailed me saying that I’m wrong, knowing full well that I got my information from news outlets. Well, here’s something: Serkov was crushed, just like I said. Flat as a pancake.
Also, it’s been confirmed by multiple media outlets that they collided with the truck, not vice versa. Serkov was riding in a basic, based on video shown by numerous sources. That’s the problem with people. When they don’t like what they read, they just claim the information is inaccurate. At the moment, it looks like the girl operating the bike caused the collision. That’s not me saying that. Video doesn’t lie.
