As recently as four days ago, I have been writing about the crisis, if you want to call it that, between the United States and Iran. I have been commenting since the whole thing started. Well, folks, the hits just keep on coming. President Trump has ordered that a blockade be placed in the Strait of Hormuz. That order has gone into effect and, as one might expect, Iran is not pleased.
Iran has promised a “strong and forceful response.” As of yet, it has yet to follow through on that threat, although it can do so at any moment and when they do that, World War III will likely begin. I know that I’ve been saying that for months, hell, for a year, but things are getting to the point where there will be a major conflict, almost certainly with conventional weapons and perhaps even nuclear given how enraged Iran’s leadership is.
For its part, Iran’s leader are defiantly saying that they have “full control,” but we all know that that is not the case. The United States, has usual, is the country that has complete control. Iran knows this and they are not pleased, so out comes the propaganda machine. Iran knows it’s fighting a losing battle, a very literal one indeed.
We have been placed notice that the current takeover of the strait is considered by Iran to be a violation of the ceasefire agreement that is allegedly in place at this moment. This even as they are violating the agreement themselves. Looking at it objectively, I am going to go ahead and say that both countries have disregarded the ceasefire and that is not a good thing.
Developments evolve by the hour, and I am tired of trying to keep current. Therefore, I am going to stand down until something actually interesting happens, things like an all-out war starting in the water or on the land, things like Iran launching actual weapons against us, forcing us to show them just how mighty the United States is when it comes to nuclear warfare.
Our country is inferior to other countries in the world in almost every category, but we do have a nuclear arsenal that rivals that of Russia. We could wipe Iran and its people (including women and children, who should not be exempt) in less than thirty minutes. As we might have said in the ’80s, your nuclear demise in thirty minutes or less or your next one is free.
Our military is inferior on many levels, so Trump might not want to step on anyone’s toes. Iran does have allies, including Russia. That country, the former Soviet Union during the Cold War, can wipe us out in twenty minutes, so Trump ought to take that into consideration before making his next move.
Both Russia and China are snuggle buddies with Iran, and attacking Iran any further than we already have is signing our own death warrant. In a matter of a couple hours, most of our country would be wiped out. Then again, much of Russia would be eliminated were we to retaliate, which we would. That retaliation might be fruitless as our ICBM’s haven’t ever been pushed to actual action, so we are sitting ducks.
But I digress.
Trump is playing a dangerous game, a game that would impact 300 million lives and all for no good reason. Remember, our lives belong to God, not to us. Trump is playing games with millions of lives and, although I am not the pope or a priest and although I am in no position to judge others, Trump and anyone else who is complicit, including the rank and file members of our military, are committing mortal sins left and right.
Until something real happens, this is the end of my comments on the Iran-USA conflict.
