We all know what John 15:13 says, but in reality, someone who lays their life down for another is not loving. That person is downright stupid. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you one Bob Wood, a supposed “food influencer.” He died because he tried to save a woman who he didn’t even know.
The woman in question was swept away into the ocean. A normal person would stand there and watch but would not do a thing, when doing so might mean the end of their life. I am one of those people who would just stand there watching the show. I would likely, probably call 911, but I would be recording the situation for likes.
There are only a few people I would put my life in peril for. My wife, of course, is one of those people. Others include a child under my care and maybe a couple of close friends. Anyone else would be screwed if I were the only one capable of helping around. Again, I would have no problem recording it all to post on this site and on social media.
No, Wood was no hero. He was an idiot and he was probably mentally ill. What other explanation is there?
