Stupid gets you nowhere

I always enjoy a story about people suffering the consequences of their own stupidity.  So it is in the matter of one Danny Santulli, a college student who proves that one can be college educated but still be retarded.  So what did he do?  He drank so much alcohol that he is now unable to speak, or see.  He also must go through life in a wheelchair.  But don’t mock him for that; he won’t stand for it!

As one might suggest, his downfall came as part of a college hazing stunt.  That has his parents irate.  They are seeking serious consequences for the students who were allegedly involved.  They want felony charges.  That’s ridiculous.  They should not have their lives ruined over a stunt that Santulli engaged in as a grown adult.

Apparently, he drank so much that he lost oxygen to his brain and that caused permanent damage.  But he was 18 at the time, meaning that he was a grown adult who knowingly engaged in dangerous and downright stupid conduct.  Those poor students shouldn’t be punished.  Santulli has reaped what he sowed.

One student was jailed for six months for serving a minor alcohol.  He’s been punished enough.  Other students likewise were punished and that should be the end of the story.

But of course his parents seem to be the type of parents who think their stupid child shouldn’t be held accountable.  As can be expected, they filed a whiny lawsuit that was settled.

Instead of filing lawsuits, his parents should have accepted this matter as the result of their precious child’s own misconduct.

It’s always amusing to me to read stories like this, because this is not the story of a victim.  It is a story of a fool who provided free entertainment to all.
