Let’s clarify something, shall we?

This morning, WNYT, the NBC affiliate here in Albany, aired a piece about the six candidates, which includes me, who have, as of now, publicly declared their candidacy for mayor.  So far, no Republicans have come forward.  I was interviewed for this story a few weeks ago.

The station held the story in order to give all candidates a chance to respond.  Apparently, the candidates who never respond to local radio station WAMC, held up the story, which baffles me.  But I digress.

I just want to clarify something that both WAMC and WNYT reported.  Both said that I did not attend a panel held by a local political party.  Of course, that is true, but it’s the way that it was phrased that bothers me.  They both made it seem as if I declined to participate.  Not so!

I am running unaffiliated and as such, I was not part of this forum.  Of course, I was never notified about the forum and only learned about it because a reporter contacted me about it the day of.

If I had been invited, I would have attended, but why would I be invited?  It was another party’s…party.  Another one of my opponents was invited to attend, but chose not to.  Another candidate never responded, apparently.

The fact that my opponent was invited while I wasn’t is an obvious act of malice on the part of the party and its three candidates.  Therefore, I will, one way or another, pay them back for their malicious act.  They won’t know when.  They won’t know how.  But the candidates and their party have made a terrible enemy, and those who have crossed me before can tell you that I don’t fuck around.

The reporters for WAMC and WNYT could perhaps have put it a different way, because as of now, people likely think that I purposefully dodged the panel.  Not so!  So, three people attended that panel while three of us didn’t.  Again…they will pay.

It was intentional.

It was malicious.

It was cowardly.

As those who I’ve paid back will tell you, my revenge comes served ice cold, so expect it at some point, though not immediately.  And trust me, when it happens, local and national media outlets will report it.  Just sit back and wait for the big show, reader.

Tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. in the Large Auditorium in the Washington Avenue branch of the library, I will be holding an informal and laid back Q&A session that is open to local media and to the public at large.  Will anyone show up?  I’m not sure, but at least I can say that I tried.

To be fair, things don’t really start heating up in April, so we’re all ahead of the game.  On April 15 and until May 24, I will be collecting signatures for a petition, or more accurately a nomination form.  I need 1,201 valid signatures, so we’ll see in a couple of months if I get those signatures.

Assuming that I get the signatures and can move forward, I will not be on the primary ballot.  I will, in that event, be on the general ballot in November.  This is because I am creating a party line.  This is merely a formality, but it is necessary.  But there’s plenty of time to talk about that.

If I do not get enough signatures, I will not give up.  I will merely run a write-in campaign.

As for today’s news story, I wish the reporter had been more clear that the recent forum was not open to all candidates.  Other than that though, I’m happy with the story, and all morning, this website has been getting slammed by potential voters who will be able to learn more about my platform and my goals should I be elected.
