Recently, I published an article that exposed Conduent, a company that does business out of 1205 Troy-Schenectady Road in Latham. They are contracted to handle documentation and payment processing for New York State. Specifically, child support. The response to the article has been astounding. As of the publication of this article, the article has been viewed over 90,000 times, but full disclosure: that count includes people who keep coming back to read the article again. Conduent has been quite the visitor, along with the state itself.
Yes, the article is popular, and it’s about to get even more popular. In fact, I have an interview with a radio station somewhere in the state booked for this week. Then, it’s an interview with a print media outlet.
But it’s time for Phase II. See, I wanted to give Conduent, who has been handling child support for over three decades, an opportunity to set things right. They have not done so, and that means that it’s time to go harder. A lot harder.
The article might come into play when the contract is up for bidding or, most likely, renewal. It is my hope that my whistleblower article plays a role in the state’s decision-making process.
A lot of people have been affected by the article. According to an anonymous source, a lot of employees are “scared” and “uncomfortable.” Well, they should be. Child support is always a touchy subject and it’s only a matter of time before someone goes full retard and tries to gain entry and do something not so nice. But everyone who works there knew the risks when they accepted their job offers.
If something is going to happen, it will happen with or without the information that I have provided. And there’s more information to come! You can read the article for the now-obsolete security breaches. Do I feel guilty? Nope. The supervisor who fired me is Russia. She launched a kitchen-sink nuclear attack. I am the United Sates and I have launched retaliatory strikes as I never strike first. That’s the best analogy I can come up with since World War III is an ever-growing possibility.
Yes, the street address has already been linked to Conduent in the search engines, but apparently, I am the first person to link the street address with child support. Did I do that? My goal isn’t to threaten anyone’s safety, but the address and its connection to Conduent is already out there. I think what has people running scared is the fact that I exposed Conduent’s weak security protocols.
By exposing those protocols, I have forced Conduent to seriously strengthen them. The only remaining issue is that I posted information about an emergency exit that would be used by one department to evacuate in the event of a security breach. Apparently, that has people in the affected department running scared. That issue is not easily resolved, but with a little creativity, they can surely fix it.
According to an employee who works from home, there is a serious audit going on back thirty days because of me. An audit because of me? I’m honored. But the audit is not necessary.
Anyway, I am starting to get a little tired of this, and I think maybe at this point I have proven my point. We’ll see.
