There are TikTok memes and then there are TikTok memes. And man, oh, man, this one’s on fire! In this hilarious clip, we see a baby being baptized in a Catholic church. As a Catholic myself, I can tell you that that part is accurate. But what happens next probably doesn’t happen in real life, or at least not that often.
Before we continue, yes, I realize that it’s AI-generated, as is much of if not most of the content on TikTok. It was made using the AI-generating website Sora. But I digress. We see the water being poured on her head. She then says, “I choose Satan! Fuck this!” She jumps out of her mother’s arms, onto the floor, runs down the aisle and out the door, screaming, “I choose Satan! Fuck this!”
In the Catholic baptism, an adult is asked if he or she renounces or rejects Satan. Of course, the answer is “yes,” or else you ain’t getting no baptism. That’s what makes the clip so funny!
An interesting side note: when I showed my wife the clip, she said something to the effect of she’d choose Satan too if it were down to either that or joining the Catholic Church. I don’t know what to say to that.
Anyway, that clip’s too funny to not share, even though as a Catholic, I should be offended. But then again, fat people might be offended by this clip, where ponies run away from a fat girl, but that’s for another day.
