Last week, I wrote about Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthCare. He was assassinated by a coward who gunned him down. Someone had a grudge, most likely because of how he or someone he knew was mistreated by the insurance company. It was never anything personal with them. It was just business. Well, I’ll bet the scumbag never thought he’d be caught. And yet, he was. One Mario Mangione has been arrested and charged.
As it turns out, Mangione seems to have had a grudge against the company and he decided to take it out on the CEO. He clearly planned and calculated. And he would have gotten away with it too if not for some meddling senior citizens who spotted him in an Altoona McDonald’s and called the police.
It turns out that Mangione’s downfall was flirting. He was talking to a woman and even lowered his face mask, smiling all the time, mere moments before he ended an innocent man’s life.
The guy had a 3-D gun, also known as a “ghost gun,” among other things, such as a silencer, on his person. He had not one, but four fake ID’s! Surely he didn’t think he would get away with it. I know, I know, don’t call you Shirley.
Thus far, he faces these charges:
- forgery
- carrying firearms without a license
- tampering with records or identification
- possessing an instrument of crime
- providing false identification to law enforcement
He has yet to be held accountable for, you know, slaughtering a man who had nothing to do with whatever set this psychopath off. Look, hate insurance companies all you want. But you don’t go murdering its employees. It’s just business, remember. It’s never personal.
What’s really sad is that, by and large, teh internetz seems to think that it’s okay. Many have actually celebrated, and it turns out that they’re disgruntled policyholders or family members of same. Instead of going through the process like a civilized person, these people seem to think that cold-blooded murder is okay.
Shame on them.
So…we know where Luigi is. Will Mario’s arrest soon follow?
