The School District

I have a lot of goals that I intend to accomplish as mayor.  Perhaps some of them will be controversial, but they need to be done.

For example, I will try to decrease the school tax by 5% and will evaluate the city’s school district as a whole. This may also help with my goal of cutting the library’s budget as said budget is related to the school district.

I will attempt to make adjustments and other sweeping changes when and where appropriate, with the singular goal being bettering the education of our city’s K-12 students, while at the same time reducing the tax burden on already financially-strapped residents.  That may mean parting ways with some people, but to make an omelette one must break some eggs.

One of many things that I want to address is the matter of free or reduced-price lunches.  Somehow, one way or another, those things need to be eliminated, at least to the level that the city’s monies are involved.  As a city, as taxpayers, we must not be forced to subsidize parental laziness or arrogance.

There are many ways to cut the money that goes to the school district, and I want to help lower your property taxes by making those ways happen.
