It simply will not happen

Today, I received an interesting email from a tipster who claimed to be in the know in regards to sites throughout the Albany area that could, in theory, be used as bunkers to shelter Albany residents in the event of a direct nuclear attack.  This is timely, especially since the events that are currently occurring in Iran may finally usher in the actual, true and brutal World War III.

The sender asked if I’d be willing to meet and sit down for an interview, along with other Albany-based bloggers, with the goal of us publishing articles that detail each and every site that could possibly be used to shelter people in the event that Albany is hit, and yes, Albany is a primary target.  Russia has ICBM’s aimed at several cities and sites throughout the nation.  Albany is one of those targets.

It’s no secret that Albany, and a few of its suburbs, has massive underground tunnels that lead to certain sites.  This is nothing new as anyone who uses Albany-related Reddit pages knows.  The reality is that by the time we’re aware that there are incoming missiles, it will be too late to get to a shelter.  If there is advanced warning, everyone will be killing everyone else just to get near a shelter.  Essentially, it won’t be be worth it.

Of course, there are numerous private homes and private properties that have their own bunkers.  Those owners will not be too keen on the idea of visitors.

Anyway, no one should be surprised that Albany still has sites left over from the Cold War.  Hell, the old-fashioned fallout shelter signs are still visible on some buildings downtown, as is the case in most any major city.  The reality is that few, if any, sites are actually ready to receive.  In the event of a launch against us, the majority of people in Albany will be vaporized, never seeing a shelter.

But I digress.

The person wondered if I’d be willing to do my part to help Albany.  That person then promised me good publicity and a high amount of web traffic in exchange for preparing and publishing an article that could be used to aid my fellow human beings in the event of an actual launch.  Those of you who know me know what my answer was.

I have no interest in helping anyone, even if there’s something in it for me, up to and including money.  I am simply not interested.  I will not in any way assist anyone when it comes to preparing for a third world war, a war that’s seeming more and more likely with every passing hour since Trump’s unjustified attack on Iran.  I love the guy as a president, but he’s wrong on this and 300 million Americans could pay the price in the worst-case scenario.

Anyway, no, I will not participate in an article that would in any way help anyone.  I don’t roll that way.  The articles will happen with or without me, yes, so I choose without.
