The rain in Albany over the past couple of hours has been intense. I’m used to driving in said conditions. A lot of others in the Albany area, however, lose their minds and driving abilities when the rain gets beyond a drizzle. I wasn’t worried about driving home, but I was worried about the morons on the road today. I passed two accidents, likely caused by one or both of the drivers not being roadworthy in rain.
And then there was the teenage girl who stepped out in front of a public transportation bus and darted right out into the street where I almost hit her. Fortunately, I was paying attention and she just kept walking. No apology, no nothing. She just expected the world to stop just for her.
Today, Bonquisha, or whatever her name is, caught a major break. I did roll down my window in the pouring rain and called her what she is. You know the word. She turned around and looked shocked, shocked that actions have consequences.
To be honest, I wouldn’t have felt bad if I didn’t have enough time to react. Given that I had maybe two seconds of reaction time, she should be kissing my ass just like all black people should do to White people.
Maybe, if I’d hit her, she’d learn to actually LOOK. But that’s too much paperwork. That stupid girl today was just another black person doing what black people do: they never look when crossing roads.
No, they never look, folks. What they do is this: they just keep on walking, right into traffic expecting the world to stop for them. This isn’t racist. I have NEVER had a White person, an Asian, etc. behave that way. Those of us who belong in this country actually stop, look both ways and then proceed. That sort of wisdom is lost on black people.
Maybe she was busy thinking of how much food stamps she has left for the month, which is something only black people have to worry about. Maybe she was busy trying to think of which guy she raw-dogged it with is her baby daddy. Maybe she was just an asshole.
An asshole she may be, but it has ALWAYS been black people and their sense of entitlement that causes them to behave recklessly. We should have never brought them over from Africa. They should learn to be more grateful for being allowed in our country. If we hadn’t plucked their ancestors off of the trees in Africa, our lives would be much more pleasant.
She was lucky that I’m a good driver and that I observe the speed limit. Had I been speeding or not driving for conditions or not being situationally aware, I would have been partially at fault because of course the victim is always blamed, but she would likely be in the hospital, likely with no insurance, forcing us to pay for her arrogance and entitlement.
Anything could have happened today. What if I’d been driving drunk and my abilities were thusly impaired? I don’t do that, but I’m just pointing it out.
What if I’d been distracted by playing with my phone or doing whatever?
What if I’d taken my eyes off the road for those precious seconds before potential impact?
If it would have been any other driver, maybe she would either be in the emergency department right now or in the hallway with a white sheet over her body on a stretcher, awaiting a free trip to the morgue. That would have been true justice given her reckless behavior.
But no, she got away with it without injuries because I believe in, you know, paying attention to the street, anticipating having to deal with idiots. That skill is especially needed in Albany and even more especially when a black person is involved.
Whenever I see a news story about a black person dying because they didn’t look first, I laugh and that’s because that’s not a tragedy. In those cases, it’s entertainment.
Look, what almost happened today served a purpose: it’s proof that Darwin is still busy, even in 2025.
